Feudi del Pisciotto for Niscemi

A new red wine and a solidarity project to support the residents of Niscemi

A solidarity initiative to support the community of Niscemi has been launched by Feudi del Pisciotto, a winery and resort in the Val di Noto, located 11 km from the Sicilian town affected by a terrible landslide. Feudi del Pisciotto has chosen to dedicate a wine to Niscemi, and the net proceeds from its sales will be donated to support initiatives aimed at helping the local population.

It is called Fata Nascim, an ancient name and expression of Arab-medieval origin, tied to the toponymic and legendary tradition of Niscemi, meaning “Fairy of the wind” or “Fairy of the gentle breeze.” This wine, made from Cabernet Sauvignon (50%) and Merlot (50%), is conceived as a gesture of solidarity and a sign of hope, so that a breeze of renewal may begin to blow. Fata Nascim is a tribute to Niscemi and its people, to the shared memory, and to the quiet strength with which they begin again.

“A gesture of closeness that we also wanted to make as a sign of gratitude toward this territory, where our journey in winemaking and hospitality with the resort—which is a place of memory—began many years ago.”

Paolo Panerai
founder of Class Editori and a wine producer in Tuscany, who in the 1990s decided to acquire and restore the imposing 18th-century baglio, housing an ancient palmento, the largest in eastern Sicily, once owned by the Branciforte family and later left abandoned for a long time

“In such a difficult time for Niscemi, we welcome this gesture of solidarity with great appreciation. The idea of dedicating a wine to the city and allocating part of the proceeds to support reconstruction is a sign of closeness that we truly value. We are pleased that a company like Feudi del Pisciotto, which over the years has contributed to the development of our local economy by attracting tourists from all over the world as well as wine enthusiasts, is showing such sensitivity toward the territory. Because difficult times are overcome with everyone’s support, by joining forces and looking to the future with confidence.”
